2235

On August 21st, we are celebrating 30 years of re-independence and freedom for the Baltic States!

At the Estonian Land, 25 Times Farms Road, Andover, CT 06232.

We will also celebrate the anniversary of the Baltic Way demonstration by singing the Baltic Way Anthem - Wake Up Baltic States in all three languages.

Lyrics in all three languages will be provided as well as in English.

Singing together has a long tradition in the Baltics, and the song festivals helped create national awakenings and helped maintain national identity during the occupation.

There will be a dinner featuring roast pork, sides, and dessert.

There will be music, dancing, singing, and much fun with entertainment provided by musicians and dancers from New York City.

This event will indeed be like a traditional Baltic village party, which in Estonian is a külasimman, in Latvian ciema ballīte, and in Lithuanian kaimo vakarėlis.

This event will occur rain or shine under the big top of our tent.

Bring your friends along to share your fun. The program will be in English. Everyone is welcome and can be involved.

Bring your beverages, coolers, lawn chairs, etc. Wear a mask if needed. COVID safety measures are in place.

The activities will occur outdoors. It is a canopy tent that is completely open on all sides, allowing for complete and constant fresh airflow.

The events and activities are as follows:
1) Gates open at 2:00 pm.
2) A brief program begins at 3:00 pm. Keynote speaker: Bradley D. Woodworth, Ph.D., who is the Coordinator of Baltic Studies at Yale University.
3) A full pork roast dinner (roasted on an open pit including sides of sauerkraut, salads, dessert, etc., with hotdogs and hamburgers as choices as well) will be at 5:00 pm.
4) Volleyball from 2:00 pm.
5) Games and activities: can jam, cornhole, rocket balloons, and more.
6) Enjoy the twelve-acre Estonian land site with the Hop River that flows through it.
7) People may stay overnight tenting on the property, allowing for the party to continue.

There will be a bonfire, which creates a beautiful ambiance for listening to music, playing music, singing, making smores, etc.

Donations at the gate, which includes the full pork meal, sides and dessert are as follows: Adults (18 years and up) - $25.00, Children (8 to 17) - $15.00, 7 years old and younger will be free.
