Estonian Festival Orchestra Coming to Carnegie Hall
The Estonian Festival Orchestra will perform at New York's Carnegie Hall on October 11, 2020 under the direction of its conductor Paavo Järvi. It will be part of a U.S. tour with a concert in Washington likely. Founded by Järvi in 2011, the orchestra, which debuted at the Pärnu Music Festival was "hand-picked", bringing together the best of Estonian talent and leading musicians from from around the world.

EU, NATO Diplomats at Tallinn Summer School of Cyber Diplomacy
80 young diplomats from 26 different nations are attending the Tallinn Summer School of Cyber Diplomacy on July 22-26, organised by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Debates on normative frameworks for state behaviour and applying international law in cyberspace, as well as on balancing freedom and security online have become mainstream foreign policy topics which are being addressed as part of the course.

Scouts Learned Forest Smarts and Then Some
On July 19 the Estonia-wide scout camp "Ma saan hakkama" ("I Can Do It!") wrapped up at the Tagametsa scout campsite in central Estonia. Close to 100 scouts came together, including some from Russian speaking troops, as well as visually impaired scouts. The camp's leader was 25 year-old Veeda Kala. Scouting in Estonia is co-ed, with both boys and girls actively participating.

Tallinn to Have Free Apple Stops
Õunastop (apple stop) is a place where people with gardens and orchards can take their leftover apples and in turn people, who don't have access to local apples, can enjoy them. The apple stops will be set up at Tallinn kindergartens and public places this fall.

311 Farms Participated in Open Farm Day
On July 20 and 21 over 195 000 people took advantage of the opportunity to visit 311 farms all over Estonia, which had opened the doors of their barns and other buildings to the public.
