NY Estonian Valev Laube Nominated for Forbes 30 Under 30 List
Estonian-born New York-based designer, multimedia producer and marketing specialist Valev Laube has been nominated for the prestigious American 2020 Forbes 30 Under 30 List. Only three Estonians, based in Europe and Asia, have previously made the list.

PM Jüri Ratas Opens Enterprise Estonia  Representation in NYC
Enterprise Estonia or EAS, the state-run agency responsible for promoting Estonia abroad and attracting investment, opened a representative office in New York City on October 28. Estonian prime minister Jüri Ratas was on hand and the opening speech was delivered by NYC commissioner for international affairs Penny Abeywardena. The office is being headed by James S. York, a NY native who has also lived and worked in Estonia and knows the country well.

Kaspar Korjus selected Outstanding Young Person
The Junior Chamber International (JCI), an international non-profit organization of young people, has selected Estonian Kaspar Korjus as one of the honorees in its Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World program. The title will be bestowed on Korjus at the JCI world congress in Tallinn next week. Korjus was the initiator of Estonia’s e-residency program and led the project team from 2014 to 2019.

Over 33,000 Visitors to Arvo Pärt Centre
On October 13, the Arvo Pärt Centre celebrated its first year of operation in its new building open to the public. Over 33,000 people have visited the centre, located in Laulasmaa, in Northern Estonia, in its first year.

Unique Grove of Crosses to Open on All Souls' Day
On November 2, a unique "Grove of Crosses" (Ristisalu) will be opened behind Kadrina cemetery in Lääne-Viru County. The artist behind the project is Teet Suur and the local old metal crosses being used no longer bear names and their exact gravesites are unknown.
