Estonian State Will Support Estonian Newspapers Abroad
The National Foundation of Civil Society (Kodanikuühiskonna Sihtkapital) will launch a pilot project providing €50,000 in grants to support Estonian publications abroad.

All publications aimed at Estonians abroad, published on paper or online, promoting the Estonian language or culture, including publications in English, can apply for funding, ERR reports.

Enjoy Virtual Concert "Pärt & Pärt" Worldwide

The 28th Rapla Church Music Festival will kick off with a virtual opening concert on July 2 at Rapla's Maarja-Magdaleena church that can be enjoyed live the world over.

Victory Flame Sent to All Counties Without Parade

Estonian Victory Day events started at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23 with the traditional flag-raising ceremony at the foot of the Pikk Hermann tower in Tallinn, attended by members of the four sub-sections of the volunteer Defense League (Kaitseliit) and followed by a flame-lighting ceremony.

Torches lit from the victory flame were then brought to the president's palace in Kadriorg and sent to all 15 counties in the country.

Victory Day marks the anniversary of the victory of Estonian forces over Baltic German troops at the Battle of Võnnu during the 1918-1920 Estonian War of Independence.

Newly Renovated Kärdla Church Rededicated

On jaanipäev (St. John's Day), June 24, Kärdla's Church dedicated to St. John the Baptist (Püha Ristija Johannes) on Hiiumaa island was rededicated.

Renovations costing just over a million euros were executed with the support of the state, private donors and the municipality and took just over two years to complete.

Now the building can be used as a place of worship and concert venue year round.
