Saaremaa Municipality Planning €125,000 Bellingshausen Monument

He led an Antarctic expedition from 1819 to 1821 and was probably the first of three sailors to see the Antarctic coast for the first time in 1820.
Estonian Athletes Qualify for Olympics
Fencers Katrina Lehis, Julia Beljajev and Erika Kirpu have all qualified for the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Estonia’s Peeter Olesk triumphed in a shoot-off to win the men’s 25 metres rapid fire pistol event at the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup in New Delhi at the end of March, securing a spot to compete in Tokyo.
Also travelling to the Summer Olympics are Estonian badminton player Kristin Kuuba and judoka Grigori Minaškin.
Although it's not yet 100%, chances are extremely good that swimmers Kregor Zirk, Daniel Zaitsev, Aleksa Gold from Toronto and 14-year old Eneli Jefimova will all be in the pool in Tokyo.
Figure skaters Eva-Lotta Kiibus and Aleksander Selevko will be participating in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Fingers crossed that sister and brother freestyle skiers Kelly ja Henry Sildaru will also qualify for the winter games.
