Estonian Directs A Play In Hollywood
"G () D () T." A World Premiere absurdist comedy After watching Samuel Beckett's classic of the Theatre of the Absurd, "Waiting for Godot," one always asks . . . "What was Godot actually doing while Vladimir and Estragon were waiting for him?" The World Premiere of "G ( ) D ( ) T" explores that intriguing question. Godot has decisions to make. How will they ultimately affect the fates of V and E (as the new play refers to Vladimir and Estragon)? What role does Godot's administrative assistant, Snook, play in furthering Godot's objectives? Oh, yes. The Boy from Beckett's play turns up in this new work, too! Ilmar Taska directs. He has been a producer, director and/or writer of feature films including "Thy Kingdom Come," "Set Point," "Out of the Cold" (starring Keith Carradine and Brian Dennehy), "Back in the U.S.S.R." (starring Roman Polanski and Brian Blessed) and "Candles inthe Dark" (starring Alyssa Milano and Chad Lowe). His recent stage directing credits include "Power of Love" in London, starring Anna Winslet and Christoph Dostal; "Lavender Love" (codirected with Odalys Nanin) at the Macha Theatre in West Hollywood; and "One Summer Night in Sweden" at the Russian National Theatre in Estonia. Presented by The MET Theatre and Streetwise Film Productions Limited. Directed by: Ilmar Taska Starring: Godot: Nicolaus Mackie, Snook: Tyson Turrou Opened Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 8:00, runs through Sunday, November 18 The MET Theatre, downstairs in the Great Scott Theatre, 1089 N.
