ERR News - Three concerts will be performed in the region churches this weekend in memory of the victims of the store collapse in Riga.

Conductor Tõnu Kaljuste, students from the Estonian music academy, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Philharmonic Chamber Choir soloists will headline in a program featuring works by Monteverdi and Mozart.

An "Ave Maria" by a young Canadian-Estonian, Riho Esko Maimets, will make its debut.

The concerts will be free and take place on December 5, at the Methodist Church in Tallinn, on December 7, at the Swedish St. Michael's Church in Tallinn, and on Sunday, December 8, in Helsinki, Finland, at the Helsinki Cathedral.

Donations to support the over 20 children who lost one or both parents in the disaster can be made both at the concerts and through electronic channels afterwards.

"The concert will be opened by an English university student Benjamin Kirk, who will conduct the work of Benjamin Britten and organ will be played by Sander Johannes, who is here from Germany. There are also Estonian academy students such as Valter Soosalu, who is a superb musician," Kaljuste said on ETV
