The State Forest Management Center (RMK) opened a new 192-kilometer section of Estonia's longest nature trail. The trail from western to southern Estonia is now 820 kilometers in length.

The newly opened section takes hikers from Peraküla on the western coast to Aegviidu in northern Estonia.

The first, 628-kilometer section from Aegviidu to Ähijärve in southern Estonia was opened two years ago.

The trail passes landmarks like the singing sands of Nõva and Keibu, Rummu quarry with its turquoise waters, the ruins of medieval Padise monastery, and the Blue Springs of Saula, among many others.

RMK also plans to mark a third trail from northeastern Estonia to the west coast.

This too will pass Aegviidu and if all goes according to plan, be ready for use in 2018, when Estonia celebrates its 100th anniversary.
