Finnish Retirees Moving To Estonia
Growing number of Finnish retirees are moving to Estonia for cheaper prices and more comfortable living.
The number of retirees has increased steadily in recent years, writes Swedish-language daily Hufvudstadsbladet. According to them, in 2014, 1,184 Finnish pensioners lived in Estonia, some 200 more than the previous year.
The lower cost of living and a more comfortable lifestyle are cited as key reasons for moving to Tallinn.
"We found that we could get a seaside apartment in central Tallinn for much less than in Helsinki," one expat told the paper.
