Minister of Foreign Affairs Marina Kaljurand met with Major General Linda Singh, adjutant general for Maryland (U.S.) on April 4, in Tallinn.

On March 30, Mr. Hannes Hanso (fourth from right), Estonian Minister of Defense, visited Warfield Air National Guard base, Maryland National Guard 175th Wing and 175th Network Warfare Squadron. Estonia has had excellent cooperation ties with Maryland National Guard since 1993.

First contacts between the State of Maryland and the Republic of Estonia took place already in 1993, when the first State Partnership Program agreement was signed, which in its turn served as the basis for further cooperation in the fields of defense, culture, business, local governments and education.
