Join EANC council members from across the US and fellow Estonian-Americans as they gather for two days of meetings and events, November 4-5, 2016. The weekend will celebrate Estonian-Americans for their service and excellence, explore topics of interest and urgency, share EANC’s work with west coast Estonian-Americans, and engage new members.

The EANC holds its business meetings on Friday, November 4.  On Saturday, November 5, panels and presentations will explore relevant topics such as challenges and strategies for Estonian-American organizations today, engaging with our history as Estonian-Americans,  Estonian startups and their "secret sauce" of going global (currently full), the EANC's new book “Estonians in America, 1945 - 1995: Exiles in a Land of Promise”, the future of the Museum of Occupations in Tallinn, and addressing today’s urgent transatlantic security issues.  The weekend culminates with Saturday evening's awards gala.

"Ameerika suvi" screening November 4

A special screening of the new Estonian comedy "Ameerika suvi" has just been added to the weekend of EANC events. The film will be screened on Friday, November 4 at 8 PM, at the Marriott Union Square in San Francisco (Savoy Room on the 30th floor).

From director Rain Rannu, "Ameerika suvi" is a new feature-length comedy about the adventures and struggles of young Estonians who have come to the US for the summer to sell educational books door-to-door. Based on experiences of the filmmaker and others, the movie was filmed in California and Nevada in a low-budget "guerilla" style, and it has opened this fall in Estonia to excellent reviews.
