On October 8, tearful phone calls and heartbreaking messages conveyed unimaginable news – Jyri Erik Kork had died from coronavirus at the mere age of 59.

For more than four decades, Jyri Erik was such an essential part of the Estonian cultural groups in Baltimore and Washington that we cannot imagine our community without him.

The Estonian Amateur Athletic Association (Eesti Spordiliit USA) conducted its yearly fall golf gathering at Rob Ashford's Locust Valley golf course on Oct 10th.

16 players turned out to enjoy perfect golf weather for a 2-man team format event.

On October 7th, the embassies of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania and the Joint Baltic American National Committee (JBANC) held their first meeting since the start of the pandemic. 

Under normal circumstances, the embassies and JBANC meet three to four times annually to discuss upcoming events, policy and legislative priorities, and other items of mutual interest.
