The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is inviting Estonians across the world to give feedback.

We would like to know how Estonian communities around the world are satisfied with consular services and the level of inclusion.

Head of the Citizenship and Migration Policy Department at the Mi

nistry of the Interior Ruth Annus has written about 12 myths related to foreigners' stay, studies and employment in Estonia and why they are not true.

ERR News has translated Annus' post from the Ministry of the Interior's blog.

For some time now, the proposed amendments to the Aliens Act with regard to the terms of staying, studying and working in Estonia have been a hot topic of discussion.

Unfortunately, a number of false allegations have also started spreading, giving a misleading impression that that foreigners are no longer welcome in Estonia as a result of the proposed amendments.

Vabamu and ETV2 Collecting Film Footage of Expatriate Estonians

ETV2 and Vabamu, the Museum of Occupations and Freedom, are collecting 8mm and Super8 films reflecting the life of Estonian communities abroad.

The collecting campaign will continue until December 31, 2020.

Earlier in October, the Central and East European Coalition (CEEC) sent policy questions relating to the interests of its member organizations’ constituents to both the Trump and Biden campaign staffs.

Topics included the current situation in Belarus, the role of the United States in NATO, U.S. relations with Russia, the Kremlin’s disinformation and hybrid warfare operations, and more.

To date, the Biden campaign has submitted its response, which is printed below and available on the CEEC website at ceecoalition.us.

Publication of the response here in no way constitutes an endorsement of Vice President Biden’s candidacy.

Widely known as the Grace Jones of the NYC a cappella scene, Lehho Rebassoo cast a large shadow wherever he went, mainly because he was very, very tall.

But there was more to him than his height— he was also very blond, and very Estonian.

Born on July 7, 1970, in Jamaica, Queens, New York to Peep and Eve Rebassoo, the family eventually relocated upstate to the Capital District region, detouring through New Jersey where in 1975 a fiveyear-old Lehho and his little sister survived a gun battle during a bank robbery foiled by his father, an off-duty patrolman.

The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir is listed as one of the 10 best choirs in the world by classicalmusic.com.

Little surprise that a nation famous for song – its independence from the USSR was preceded by a ‘Singing Revolution’ of massed voices in Tallinn in 1988 – should boast one of the world’s finest choirs.

Tallinn's traditional Christmas market is to be replaced this year by a more dispersed event, encompassing the entire Old Town and other districts of the capital, due to coronavirus concerns.

The city government itself is overseeing the festivities.

"We have a plan of bringing more light, joy, activities and cooperation with our private partners this year," Tallinn mayor Mihhail Kõlvart (Center) said at a press conference.

Foreign Ministry Conducting Global Survey of Estonians

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is inviting all Estonians living abroad to participate in a survey in order to receive feedback on community involvement and satisfaction with consular services.

This is the first time such a survey has been conducted at the ministerial level.
