A total of 15,413 people immigrated to and 13,003 people emigrated from Estonia in 2015, making for a net migration total of 2,410. Subtracting from that the country’s rate of natural increase (RNI) of -1,336, immigration to Estonia still compensated for the population decrease caused by its negative RNI with a net positive of 1,074 people.

According to an overview provided by the Estonian Institute of Economic Research, alcohol consumption in Estonia decreased for the third year in a row in 2015 — to the lowest level seen in over ten years.

The Estonian National Congress in Sweden (ENCS) received a reply to their letter of February 5th, 2016, to the Swedish Foreign Minister, Margot Wallström, regarding the leasing of Gotlands harbor Slite facilities to Nord Stream. In her reply the Swedish Foreign Minister stated that Sweden will follow international agreements and that the local authorities of Gotland have a high level of independence in making such decisions.

After the success of the Mother’s Day Concert on May 1st, one could imagine that a concert six days later would only be sparsely attended.
