Oswald Riisma was born in Märjamaa, Estonia on May 19, 1920 and lived to be 100 years old, passing away peacefully at his home in Boca Raton, Florida on July 15, 2020.
Oswald was an entrepreneur in both Toronto, Canada and subsequently in Florida, USA.

Estonia Summons Russian Ambassador After Attempt to Justify Occupation
On July 23, Estonia's Foreign Minister summoned the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Estonia Aleksandr Petrov in connection with recent statements seeking to portray the occupation of Estonia and its annexation to the Soviet Union as legitimate.
The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Tallinn had published a series of posts on its social media channels falsifying history.

Draft Budget Bills Include Support for Baltic Security
As both chambers of Congress deliberate the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2021, the Estonian American National Council (EANC) and Joint Baltic American National Committee (JBANC) have been engaging with House and Senate staff to call attention to bipartisan Baltic Security Initiative amendments confirming U.S. support for Baltic security against Russian threats.
On July 2nd, the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) agreed to S.Amdt. 2168 to the NDAA, “To express the Sense of Congress on support for coordinated action to ensure the security of Baltic allies.”

New Navy Warships Being Built on Saaremaa
At the end of this year, the Estonian Navy (Eesti Merevägi) will have at its disposal the first brand new warships of the entire period of re-independence.
They are currently being built on the island of Saaremaa.

Estonia Helped Organize UN Event Commemorating Srebrenica Genocide Victims
On July 10, a UN high-level event commemorated the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia, 25 years ago.
The virtual commemoration event took place on a platform created by an Estonian enterprise.
