Two kannels Found Their New Homes in Washington, DC
A delegation from the Estonian Ministry of Culture was in DC in the beginning of April. They brought with them two kannels (kannel is a traditional Estonian string instrument that has been a part of local culture for 2000 years) that found new homes. One kannel was donated to the Smithsonian Institution and the other to the Kennedy Center. San Francisco Consular Visit in May

New Estonian Government Appointed
On April 24, President Kersti Kaljulaid appointed the new Estonian government, led by Jüri Ratas, to office. During the formal ceremony, statements were made by the chairmen of the three governing coalition parties: Jüri Ratas of the Centre Party, Mart Helme of the Conservative People's Party of Estonia (EKRE) and Helir-Valdor Seeder of Isamaa.

New Vector Attacks on Democracy: Former Estonian President Speaks on Digital War as Major Cyber Exercise Takes Place in Tallinn
On April 13, 2019, former Estonian President Toomas Ilves addressed the vulnerabilities of democracy in the digital age before a standing room only crowd at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. Mr. Ilves described in great detail how nearly all of the western democratic countries have been, in varying degrees, digitally attacked by totalitarian governments such as Russia, China, Iran, and even Venezuela.
