A new choir is forming in the Bay Area, and what could be more Estonian than coming together to sing? With the goal of performing in the 2019 Laulupidu in Tallinn, the group is open to all who want a chance to meet and sing with fellow Estonians and Estonian music enthusiasts.

Most Illegal Border Crossings In Estonia Involve People Getting Lost Or Ignoring Signs
More than 50 illegal border crossings recorded by the Police and Border Guard (PPA) occurred mainly due to people’s carelessness. Most of them concerned boats violating Russian territory on Lake Peipus, or tourists visiting the border areas.

Recently I met a gentleman in my church who inquired about my accent. We found that we had something in common: Estonian heritage and work in space exploration. He introduced himself as Conrad Wells. His aunt was Melissa Wells, who served as the US ambassador to Estonia from 1998 to 1999. Melissa was of Estonian descent, and the daughter of a well know prewar singer Milizia Korjus.

EANC Interview with Speaker of Parliament Eiki Nestor
The Speaker of the Estonian Parliament Eiki Nestor was in Washington June 26-28 for a Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) conference to foster transatlantic relations. The NB8 includes Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden in a format that focuses on regional cooperation. Parliamentary speakers from all nations except Denmark took part in the visit.

In a short interview with ERR, Minister of Defence Jüri Luik (IRL) on Thursday said that provocations on the part of the Russian military were a possibility during its Zapad exercises, but that they were ready for them.

Pillerkaar dancers joined dozens of Estonians and friends basking in the glow of the warm hospitality and blazing Jaanipäev bonfire at Vilve and Paul Ladon's Päkametsa Farm in Taneytown, Maryland on Saturday, June 24 evening. Families and old friends gathered from hundreds of miles to be together, even from as far as Pennsylvania. And for those who didn't yet know each other, Vilve and Paul's lawn games turned them into new friends.
