The Venice Institute of Contemporary Art "Fine Arts Film Festival, Venice, California" will be held June 8-14, 2020 online using the Vimeo platform. Over 90 films have been selected from all over the world, included are world premieres.
The Fine Arts Film Festival (founded by Estonian Jüri Koll) is dedicated to presenting the finest new films about art in the western capital of the art world – and now globally to highlight the world art community.

Mail Service Between U.S. and Estonia Restored
On May 12, the United States Postal Service (USPS) removed Estonia from the list of countries with which international mail and parcel services had been suspended, the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

San Francisco Bay Area Estonians have been sheltering in place, by a six county ordinance, since March 16. We are trying to make the best of it, leaning in to family and friends, learning to use new online tools, while still giving Estonian community activities an important place in our lives.
Our community is diverse, and includes people working in frontline medical response, people in high tech able to work from home, and people running impacted small businesses.

Protesting the Joint Trump-Putin Statement Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Meeting on the Elbe
The Estonian American National Council (EANC) recently joined with two protests of the Joint Statement by President Donald J. Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Meeting on the Elbe issued by the White House on April 25th.
The Joint Baltic American National Committee (JBANC) and the Central and East European Coalition (CEEC) both published statements objecting to the terms of the commemoration and to President Trump’s engagement with the Russian president.

On April 25, 2020, the White House released a Joint Statement by President Donald J. Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Meeting on the Elbe.
In honor of the May 8th anniversary of the end of World War II, the CEEC objects to this statement and calls for the United States government to recognize the anniversary’s tragic historical significance as it marked the beginning of 50 years of oppression for the nations of our heritage.

Baltic Presidents Release Joint "Victory in Europe Day" Message
The presidents of the three Baltic states have released a joint letter ahead of May 8, VE Day or "Victory in Europe Day", when most countries in Europe mark the end of the Second World War.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of what is also the Day of Victory Over Nazism and the Day of Commemoration of WW II Victims.

BANC Statement Concerning the 75th Anniversary of the Meeting on the Elbe
On April 25, 2020, the White House released a Joint Statement by President Donald J. Trump and President Vladimir Putin of Russia Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Meeting on the Elbe.
In the statement, both parties highlight the “historic meeting between American and Soviet troops, who shook hands on the damaged bridge over the Elbe River.
