CEEC Statement Denouncing Kremlin Supported Efforts by Belarus to Destabilize the Border With Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania
(Washington, DC) — The Central and East European Coalition (CEEC) voices deep concern regarding provocations manufactured by the Lukashenka regime in Belarus – with the active support of the Russian Federation – along Belarus’ border with Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Refugees are being cruelly weaponized on the Eastern borders of the European Union as political pawns and tools of hybrid warfare.
The Lukashenka regime and its Kremlin puppet masters are further exposed as criminal and destabilizing influencers in Eastern Europe with these actions that are beyond the pale of human rights abuse.

Government Calls 1,684 Reservists to Training Exercise “Okas 2021”
The Estonian government has called up 1,684 reservists to a week-long training exercise entitled "Okas 2021". It will include the construction of a "temporary border fence".
On the proposal of the Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces Martin Herem, 1636 reservists from mainly engineer units are being called to participate in a readiness exercise during November 17-25.

Latvian Defense Minister: We Are One Step From Using NATO Treaty Article 4
Latvian Defense Minister Artis Pabriks said the country is "currently one step from invoking Article 4 of the NATO Treaty" over the migrant situation on the Belarusian and Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian borders, public broadcaster LSM reported on Tuesday, November 16.
Pabriks told Latvian Radio it has been agreed the countries will support each other if one of them wants to start consultations under Article 4.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia and the Stanford University Libraries are pleased to announce that Dr. Lauri Mälksoo and Dr. Piret Ehin have been awarded the 2022 Short-Term Research Fellowship at Stanford University for Estonian Scholars.

Kontaveit Starts WTA Finals With Victory
Anett Kontaveit has become the first Estonian to participate in the WTA (Women's Tennis Association) finals and began with a win.
Kontaveit defeated Czech player Barbora Krejcikova in the opening match of the WTA Finals in Guadalajara, Mexico.
She has won 27 of her last 29 matches and is on an 11-match winning streak.
